Odessa Kirby Davis

Odessa Kirby Davis, 84, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. Odessa was a lifelong resident of Gordon County. She was born on April 29, 1942, to the late Arnold “Veston” Kirby and Viola Sally Kirby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, L.C. Davis; one sister, Barbara Childers; and two brothers, Arnold Kirby and J.B. Kirby.

Odessa is survived by her son, Greg Davis; two daughters, Angie Bailey and her husband Darren, Pam Stanley and her husband Atnas; sisters, Brenda Childers and Joyce Franklin; brothers, Rickey Kirby and his wife Joyce, Eddie Kirby and his wife Karen; grandchildren, Justin Bailey, Summer Self (Cody), Kaitlyn Gibson (Ben), Bradley Stanley (Ashlee); great-grandchildren, Mason Self, Grayson Gibson, Hudson Gibson, Lillian Stanley and Penelope Stanley. Several nieces and nephews also survive. 

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Crane Eater Community Church.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 6:00 PM from Crane Eater Community Church with Pastor Paul Gay officiating and Susie Grizzle will be reading her Eulogy. A private burial will be held in Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Justin Bailey, Bradley Stanley, Cody Self, Ben Gibson, Mason Self, Elbert Jackson, and Grayson Gibson. Honorary pallbearers are Mark Kirby, Randy Franklin, Jeff “Whitey” Davis, and Jason Kirby.

The family are members of Crane Eater Community Church and would like to thank Pastor Paul Gay and wife Donna Gay for all of their love and support.
