Odell Young

Mrs. Odell Young, age 79 of Fairmount, Georgia, died Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at Gordon Hospital following a brief illness.

Mrs. Young was born on June 17, 1927 in Pickens County, daughter of the late Andrew and Savanah Chastain Young. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Young on December 30, 2000.

Mrs. Young is survived by two daughters; Frances Pack and her husband, Travis of Ranger, Georgia; Diane Wilson and her husband, George of Calhoun, Georgia. Three sons; Berley Young and his wife Glenda of Ranger, Georgia; Steve Young and Tex Young both of Fairmount, Georgia. One brother; Onice Young of Ringgold, Georgia. Two sister-in-laws; Dorothy Young and Annie Mae Young. Special Neighbors; Bob Langham, and Mr. & Mrs. Rod Mann. Thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Odell Young will be conducted Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at the Friendship Baptist Church at Ludville, Georgia with Rev. David Temples and Rev. Hollis Crook officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Joey Young, Teddy Scroggins, Freddy Young, Von Champion, Dirk Young, and Rex Young.
