Norman “Norm” Robert Tritton, 83, of Adairsville, GA, passed away on September 4, 2026 at Atrium Floyd in Rome after a brief illness.

Norm was born in Ponca City, OK on July 15, 1943, to the late Robert and Peggy Tritton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step sisters Violet Collins, Pat Woodul, Margie Prock; sister-in-law, Jill Tritton; brother-in-law, Howard Withrow.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Anita Withrow Tritton; daughter, Teresa Durshimer; son-in-law, Mark Durshimer; grandson, Cavan Durshimer; stepson, Ed Kuykendall; brother, David Tritton; sisters, Robin (Billy) Lebo and Loueen (Gary) Crawley; stepsister, Eunice (Alfred) Ferguson; sister-in-law, Sheryl Withrow. Multiple nieces, nephews and great nieces & nephews also survive.

Norm was a proud Army Veteran, retiring after 20 years. He was an SFC in the Army Ground Forces Band. He served as an Operations NCO and Transportation NCO for many years. He was also in the 82nd Airborne serving in Germany and state side.

He owned and operated American Executive Car and Limousine Service for 15 years.

He loved music and played several instruments, including sousaphone, tuba, trombone, euphonia, string bass, electric bass guitar and keyboard.

He was actively involved with the Georgia Mountain Music Club (GMMC) of Rome, where he enjoyed playing the stand-up bass and singing. He was also a member of the British brass bands, Jerico Brass out of Chattanooga, TN and Roman Festival Brass out of Rome, GA. He also played for Dixieland Band, Etowah Jazz Society as well as various other bands.

He was a part of the music ministry at Regency Park and Woodale Assisted Living facilities in Dalton, GA, the Senior Center in Calhoun, GA, with his late brother-in-law Howard Withrow.

Norm & Anita enjoyed square dancing with Wheel Arounds in Marietta.

He joined Marshall A Weir Masonic Lodge No 448 in 1982 and was a former member of Resaca Masonic Lodge No 724. He was a current member of the Meyerhardt Masonic Lodge No 314.

He was also a member of Eastern Star. His primary Chapter was Kennesaw No. 414 and a plural member of Etowah No. 30, Rome.

He was a member of the Salvation Army, a longstanding Tritton family tradition, and a member of the American Legion Post 245, Adairsville, GA.

He was a member of Greers Chapel Baptist Church in Kennesaw.

Norm had a very loving and giving heart throughout his life and loved helping his family, friends and people in his community.

Memorial arrangements are under the care and direction of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home of Calhoun and will be published at a later date.
