Nena Maye (Rogers) Walraven, 92, of Rome, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026. She was born on May 3, 1934, to the late Willie Newton and Mattie Victoria Rogers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Walraven of Lindale, Georgia; brothers, William Stanton Rogers of Tucker, Georgia and N.F. Rogers Sr. of Calhoun, Georgia; sisters, Mattie Juanita Stephens of Jonesboro, Georgia and Mary Jo Bagley of Huntsville, Alabama; and nephew, N.F. Rogers Jr. of Albany, Georgia.
Nena retired from State Mutual after 55 years of service. She was an exceptional baker often feeding not only family but coworkers and neighbors. No one left her home hungry or without taking a treat with them. Her love for baking led her to a collection of books into the thousands. It was not uncommon to see her after preparing dinner crocheting one of her beautiful baby blankets or throws for someone as a gift. Nena always gave her love and affection to anyone that knew Nena. She was quick to offer her opinion on any given subject or possibly a witty, honest response. Nena was loving and very protective to all that knew her and always willing to share a great recipe.
Nena is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and April Walraven of Rome, Georgia; sister-in-law, Bobbie Rogers; nieces and nephews, Richard Rogers (Gloria) of Resaca, Georgia, Burt Bagley of Pell City, Alabama, Hollis Bagley (Jenny) of Huntsville, Alabama, Lynn Rogers of Calhoun, Georgia, Laura Ali-Talha of Fayetteville, Georgia, and Kay Owens (Larry) of Thomasville, Georgia.

The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at The Fountains of Calhoun, Georgia.
