Obituary

Nancy (Reece) Alvis, 84 of the Oak Grove Community, Calhoun, passed away Friday morning on August 12, 2022 following several years of declining health.
Mrs. Alvis was born in Gordon County, Georgia on July 31, 1938, the daughter of the late Clifford W. and Maude Tilley Reece. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Martin V. Alvis on November 17, 1985; sisters, Jean Kown, Lizzie Shaw, Virginia McHugh, Mildred Thomas, Grace Rawlins, and Anita Faith Smith; brothers, Frank Reece and Robert David Reece. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Gordon Hospital and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Alvis will be conducted Sunday, August 14th at 3:00 PM from Victory Temple Church of God with Rev. Jeff Dutton and Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Fain cemetery beside her late husband. Pallbearers serving will include, Jason Brannon, David Roden, Tim Shaw, Caleb Roden, Kayson Shaw, Gage Autry, Tyler Thomas and Ronnie Fox; honorary pallbearers include, Dr. Maxwell Parrott and the staff of Oncology of Calhoun.
The family will receive friends Sunday, August 14th between the hours of 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM at Victory Temple Church of God.
