Obituary

Myrtle Geneva Langley Powers, 96, of Calhoun, Georgia died Tuesday, April 13, 2021 after several years of declining health. She was born on March 24, 1925 in Gordon County to the late Columbus Langley and Martha Jane Carroll Langley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Caleb Powers. Daughters, Dorothy Jean Evans, Patricia Langley: Granddaughter, Sabrina Nation, Grandson, David Asa Evans. Great-grandson, Bryson Youman also preceded in death. She was a member of Welcome Gap Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Martha Chamlee and Deborah Powers; grandchildren, Sarah Brown, Robin Cyree-Brown, Gary Mitchell Chamlee, Caleb Biddy, Scott Evans and Debra Prendergest, Bernadette Walraven. Also survived by her Special friend, Nathan Donaldson. She was also survived by several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The funeral will be conducted on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. A.J. Waters and Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow at Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers are, Austin Edwards, Lane Edwards, Gary M. Chamlee, Billy Brown, and Nathan Donaldson. Honorary Pallbearers are Gary W. Chamlee, Todd Woodring, and Don Woodring.
The family will receive friends on Thursday prior to the service between the hours of 12:00pm and 2:00pm.
