Obituary

Millie J. Grogan Whitfield, 88, of Calhoun passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021, at Calhoun Health Care after several years of declining health.
Millie was born in Forsyth County, Georgia on September 8, 1933, the daughter of the late Lamon and Clyde Smith Grogan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Dennis "Dink" Whitfield; a sister, Peggy Grogan Baldwin, and her husband Danny; three brothers, Rupert Grogan, Ray Grogan, and James Grogan. She was a member of Union Hill First Congregational Methodist Church
Survivors include her son, Rev. Jeffery Whitfield and his wife Donna, her daughter, Brenda Whitfield Garmon and her husband Paul; grandchildren, Aaron Garmon, Robbie Garmon, Sommer Sergent, and Amanda Smith; great-granddaughters, Hannah Darden, Azlynn Sergent, Adly Sergent, Bella Garmon, Maggie Garmon, Piper Garmon, Harmony Garmon, Eden Garmon; great-great-grandson, August Darden; sister, Nancy Luckett and her husband Jim; brother L.C. Grogan and his wife Janie; sisters-in-law, Sharon Grogan, Betty Grogan and Hannelora Grogan; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services for Millie Grogan Whitfield will be held on Monday, September 18th at 2:00 PM from the Church of Jesus Christ, 100 Pine Drive, Calhoun, GA 30701. with Rev. Jeffrey Whitfield and Rev. Aaron Garmon officiating, music will be arranged by Amy Padgett, Robbie Garmon, Sommer Sergent, and Aaron Garmon. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery with Rev. Paul Garmon officiating. Pallbearers serving include, Brian Grogan, David Grogan, Daniel Baldwin, Ryan Luckett, Connor Padgett, and Dakota Grogan.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 17th at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home between the hours of 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM.
