Mildred Muse Couch

Mrs. Mildred Muse Couch, age 84, of Sugar Valley, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2006, at Gordon Hospital following several months of declining health. Mrs. Couch was born in Whitfield County, October 15, 1922, daughter of the late J.H. (Ham), and Cloe Long Muse. She was retired from OJ Mills, and was a charter member of Welcome Gap Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Couch, and two brothers, Roy Muse and Edgar Muse.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Billy Ray and Joyce Couch of Resaca; three daughters; Helen Kinsey of LaFayette, Theresa Defore and her husband Jerry of Sugar Valley, and Odessa Hopper and her husband James of Calhoun; one sister; Jean Green of Resaca; eleven grandchildren; twenty six great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Couch will be conducted Saturday, October 28, at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev(s) Ernest Channell, Larry Hayes, and William Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery at Hall Memorial. Active pallbearers will include Gregory Long, Michael Long, Allen Kinsey, Jerry Kinsey, Lamar Wofford, Tony Couch, Dewayne Couch, and Josh Townsend. Honorary pallbearers will include Bobby Banks, Perry Ball, Richard Fouts, Jimmy Silvers, and Douglas Muse. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday after 5:30pm.
