Melinda Ann Walls, 68, passed away on September 12, 2025, at Hearth Hospice in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was born on July 21, 1957, at Johnson-Hall Clinic in Calhoun, Georgia. Melinda was a woman of strong faith whose nurturing spirit shone brightly in her roles as a loving wife, devoted mother, and adoring grandmother.
She was a Transportation Analyst at Mohawk Industries and was dedicated to her field of service. She was a member of the 1975 graduating class of Red Bud High School,
In addition to her career, Melinda was passionate about amateur radio. She served as the secretary for the Cherokee Capital Amateur Radio Club, a role she happily fulfilled alongside her husband, Steve. Her enthusiasm for this hobby reflected her desire to connect with others and embrace her community.
Melinda cherished her family deeply. She is survived by her husband, Steve Walls; her daughter, Angel Cronon Bell (Michael); her son, Brandon Shane Cronon (Nicole); and her stepson, John Shane Walls. grandchildren: Cameron and Jasmine Bell, Gracie and Mark Kendrick, Jessica Cronon (Brandon), Tristen Cronon, Eko Cronon Dusseault, and Xander Garvin, sisters, Marsha White Parker (Gary) and Vicki White Townsend (Pete), along with cousins and other relatives. Melinda's kindness and unwavering support were felt by many and will be fondly remembered.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home, followed by a funeral service on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Jake Sheriff officiating. Rev. Gary Sheriff will be in charge of the graveside service at Haven of Rest Memorial Park.
Pallbearers serving include Cameron Bell, Richard Beasley, Omar Zamarron, Chris Harbin, Frank Dean, and Eli Bell. Honorary pallbearers will include members of the Cherokee Capital Amateur Radio Society and her co-workers at Mohawk Industries.
As we gather to celebrate Melinda's life, we are reminded of the love she gave so freely and the faith that guided her throughout her life. She will be dearly missed and forever cherished in the hearts of her family and friends.
