Obituary

Mary Victoria "Vicki" (ne Glennon, formerly Wadell) Schario, aged 85, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2022, at Gordon Health and Rehab. Vicki was born on June 8, 1936, in Gary, Indiana, to Charles Edmund Glennon and Julia Catherine (ne Visnovsky) Glennon. She grew up in Gary, Indiana and East Lansing, Michigan with her six siblings. She graduated from Resurrection High School, in Lansing, Michigan with a scholarship to pursue fashion design. Following a life-threatening event, she switched career paths to nursing and graduated from McCauley School of Nursing in Pontiac, Michigan. Her desire to teach and help people overcome difficult situations through the power of God continued to direct her life for years. From working with preschoolers in Head Start programs utilizing Montessori principles, to sharing the Gospel in prisons after the murder of a close friend. She utilized her training in nursing at various nursing homes in Ithaca, New York. Ordained as a minister by Gospel Crusade in Bradenton, Florida, she went on short-term medical missions to Haiti, Dominican Republic, and Venezuela. She also ministered to people on the streets in Louisiana during Mardi Gras. She received her credentials as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor from New York State, working alongside her husband Donald J. Schario at the Rescue Missions in Utica, NY and Columbus, GA.
Although her career path changed, she was an artist to the core and forever. She enjoyed tailoring her clothes, making quilts, crocheting, refinishing furniture, painting, and gardening.
Vicki had a passion for worship and sharing Jesus. Her life has been marked by her Savior and she wanted to share that joy with others. She could be found dancing before the Lord with flags and streamers, playing her tambourine or conga drums, and teaching and encouraging others that worship was about Jesus, not the person sitting next to you. She had a heart for helping people step into freedom from addictions and from her own relationship with Jesus brought a glow that shone through her smile and laughter; a trait that all who knew her will remember her by.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Julia Glennon, a sister, Roberta Glennon, and her husband Donald J. Schario.
She is survived by her siblings Julia Anacleta Glennon, Timothy Paul Glennon (Sonie), Bridget Maria Roe, Thomas Michael Glennon (Catherine),and Rose Mary Glennon.
Vicki is also survived by her five precious children, their spouses and grandchildren. Of those, her youngest, Jean Mary Morrison (Tom) of Calhoun, Georgia and their children; her grandchildren, Bethany Freeman (Jubal), Christina Morrison, Johnna Taylor (Nathan), Samuel Morrison, and Chastity Morrison; along with great-grandchildren Noelle, Regina, and Nikolai Freeman; and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m., at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow the visitation in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Darrell Burns and Rev. David Yarborough will officiate. Burial will follow on Thursday, February 15, 2022 at Park Hill Memorial Gardens in Columbus, Georgia.
Instead of flowers, the family would like gifts in memory of Vicki
