Mary Jean Sisson

Mrs. Mary Jean Seabolt Sisson, 84, of the Resaca Community, passed away Thursday,  June 26th at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Resaca, Georgia on August 26, 1940, the daughter of the late Frank Seabolt Sr. and Madge Clements Seabolt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Sue Seabolt Smith, Frank Seabolt Jr, Ruth Seabolt Greeson, and Ted Seabolt. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, a member of the 1959 graduating class of Red Bud School. Prior to retirement, she was employed by the Gordon County Board of Education as a Para-pro at Tolbert Elementary School.

Jean was a precious lady; she loved her family dearly, and the thing that she enjoyed the most was being surrounded by her family. She was a great cook and enjoyed preparing meals for those she loved.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Sanford Sisson; two sons, Todd Sisson, and his wife Dawn, Craig Sisson, and his wife Holly; grandchildren, Brett (Kayla) Sisson, Taylor (Matt) Widener, Zack Sisson, Addy Sisson; great grandchildren,Ty Sisson, Knox Widener, Jameson Sisson, Millie Widener, Cohen Widener, and Madilynn Widener; siblings, Don Seabolt (Karen), Randy Seabolt (Debbie), Kenny Seabolt (Sharon), and Brenda Tomlinson.

A service to celebrate the life of Jean Seabolt Sisson will be conducted Monday, June 30th, 2025, from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pine Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include, Brett Sisson, Ty Sisson, Zack Sisson, Matt Widener, Knox Widener, and Bobby Greeson.

The family will receive friends Monday, June 30th at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home beginning at 1:00 PM until the funeral hour of 3:00 PM.
