In Loving Memory of Mary “Ruth” Rickett Juliano
Mary “Ruth” Rickett Juliano, Mom, Mother, Grandmama, Memaw, Nana passed away peacefully on October 7, 2026, at the age of 96. Her warmth and unforgettable presence left an enduring mark on generations of her children and grandchildren, as well as on the family and friends who were fortunate enough to know her.
Born on July 1, 1930, in Gordon County, Mary “Ruth” lived a life full of family, friends, laughter, love, and memories. Throughout the years, Ruth was a devoted church member of Bethlehem Baptist and Heritage Baptist Churches where she shared her musical talents on the piano and organ. She was warm-hearted and gentle, but she was also, unmistakably, her own person. Ruth was a true character with a quick wit, a memorable personality, and a way of saying or doing things that was simply, Ruth. She loved her people fiercely, welcomed others generously, and left behind countless stories, smiles, and moments that could only have come from her.
Above all else, Ruth treasured her family and took great pride in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great, great-granddaughters. She is preceded in death by first husband, father of their four children, Charlie Crawford “Bud” Fox, and her late husband, Ed Juliano, her parents D.C. and Finnie Rickett, as well as other beloved family members. Ruth is survived by her sons, Randall Fox and Jimmy (Susan) Fox, and daughters Gina (Mitchell) West and Vickie (Brad) Burns, grandchildren Scott (Christie) Fox, Dena Fox, Heather (Stuart) Balliew, Carla Fox, Brandon (Jessica) Phillips, Leigha (Kyle) Ellis, Christen (Lucas) Nations, and Layson (Morgan) West, as well as her eight great-grandchildren and two great, great-granddaughters, along with many extended family members, Denese (Donnie) Sexton, and dear friends who loved her deeply. To paraphrase her great-grandson, Brody, how wonderful life was never having to bury a grandchild or child at the age of 96.
Ruth spent the past season of her life at Morning Pointe Assisted Living Facility in Calhoun, Georgia. As a beloved resident, she welcomed outing adventures and entertained new residents who quickly became friends. The caregivers and residents there were a second family to her. Her family is extremely indebted to the caregivers and residents of Morning Pointe who loved her as their own.
Though she will be greatly missed, her love and legacy will live on through everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, October 9, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home in Calhoun, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Memory Care Unit of Morning Pointe Assisted Living Facility in Calhoun, Georgia.
