Mary Catherine Jones

Mary Catherine Timms Jones, 90, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2025. She was born in Calhoun, Georgia, on January 12, 1935, to the late Rev. J. Arthur and Beulah Timms. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delmus Moody Jones; daughter, Kathy Jones; brothers and sisters-in law, J.W. (Thelma) Timms, Herman (Carolyn) Timms, Herbert Timms; sisters and brothers-in law, Lucille Hall, Betty (Charlie) Burton, Eddie Burnette, Kenneth Dutton.

She is survived by her son, Alan (Bonnie) Jones; daughters, Janet (Scott) Herod, Jennifer (Lonie) Bishop; brothers, David (Linda) Timms, Aaron (Carlotta) Timms; sisters, Hazel Burnette, Margie Dutton; grandchildren, Matt Herod, Ryan Bishop, Ashley Herod, Amanda Newell, Rod Bishop, Seth Herod, Rhett Bishop; great-grandchildren, Ayden Herod, Amelia Herod, Emma Herod, Trent Stein, Ella Newell, Easton Newell.

Mary loved flowers and liked to spend time in her garden. She was a dedicated member of College Street Church of God, where she taught Sunday School for 61 years. She was a graduate of the 1953 class of Red Bud High School.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 1:00 PM from College Street Church of God with Pastor Dewayne Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. The grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
