Mary Jean Holbrook

Mary Jean Holbrook, 94, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025. She was born in Calhoun, Georgia, on February 5, 1931, to the late Bunyan and Norma Bailey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Holbrook; brother, James “Buck” Bailey; sister, Shirley Thacker.

She is survived by her sons, Michael E. Holbrook, Mitchell G. and Rhodna Holbrook; several other relatives also survive.

Jean was a dedicated member of Northside Church of Christ. She loved her church and her faith was very important to her. She enjoyed talking politics, and was a strong conservative.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 1:00 PM from Chandler Cemetery with Minister Kent Bailey officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Bailey, Lisa Parker, Jeni Hyde, John Bailey, Alan Matthews, and Trina Bell.
