Mary Jean Casey

Mary Jean Casey, 83, of Fairmount, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. She was born on October 14, 1941, to the late Robert and Mary Lee Knight. She was preceded in death by her brother, Lester Knight; and brothers-in-law, Lawrence Moss, Jerry Childs, and Ray Noland.

Prior to retirement, Jean worked for the Gordon County Board of Education. She was a graduate of Red Bud High School, class of 1959. Jean was a lifelong member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. She was a Gideon Auxiliary for 46 years.

Jean is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Jerry Casey; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Dana Casey, Brent and Patricia Casey; sisters, Margie Moss, Carolyn Childs, and Debbie Noland; grandchildren, Mecaela, Matt (Kristin), Alicia (Steve), Ashlen, Taylor (Sam), Nick, and Kristen (Joe); and several great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Casey, Rev. Ronnie Wells, and Rev. Larry Hibberts officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are Randy Casey, Brent Casey, Matt Casey, Nick Casey, Dewayne Casey, Steve McGlamery, and Sam Gilliam.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Gideons Memorial Bible Fund.
