Mary Lou Burns, 80, of Plainville, Georgia passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024. She was born in Calhoun, Georgia on July 28, 1943, to the late Alvin and Dimple Petty Goforth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Fred Burns; granddaughter, Crystal Morgan; brothers, Luther Goforth, Richard Goforth, Eugene Goforth, Billy Goforth, Charles Goforth, Clarence Goforth, Franklin Goforth.
She is survived by her son, Wendell Burns; daughters and son-in-law, Wanda Sheriff, Deborah (Jeremy) Jones; brother, Jerry Goforth; grandchildren, Cliff Morgan, Terry Burns, Monica Vaughan; nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons. Burial will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers serving are Josh Fuller, Billy Burns, Tanner Morgan, Gary Sheriff, Shane Hibberts, and Jeremy Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Kenny Long and Cliff Morgan.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
