Martin Hiram Taulbee

Mr. Martin Hiram Taulbee, age 84 of Calhoun, passed away Friday June 29, 2007, at Gordon Health Care Center. He was born in Campton, Kentucky on November 4, 1922, son of the late Robinson and Nettie Hollon Taulbee. Mr. Taulbee was a graduate of the University of Kentucky, and later received his Master's Degree in Education from West Georgia College, and was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during WWII.

Mr. Taulbee was preceded in death by one son, Martin H. Taulbee Jr., and by one daughter, Alberta Mae Bradley. One brother, Shelton Taulbee, two sisters, Martha Combs and Maudie Gilbert, and a grandson, Brent Taulbee Connell, also preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Nettie Gibson Taulbee; three daughters and sons-in-law; June and Greg Connell of Calhoun, Patti and Steve Meilinger of Winchester, KY, and Pamela and Walter Pooley of Newport Richey, FL. One sister, Mary Dunn of Campton, KY, ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services for Mr. Martin Hiram Taulbee will be conducted Sunday at 1:30 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Chandler Cemetery. The family will begin receiving friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Sunday, after 11:00 a.m.
