Martha Faye Coggins

Martha Faye Coggins, 86, a life-long resident of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026. She was born in Oakman, Georgia, on July 24, 1939, to the late John Herbert Moore and Ruby Kate Black Moore. She was preceded in death her husband, Melvin Coggins.

Martha is survived by her sons, Marty Coggins and Paul Coggins; daughters, Ann Smith (Johnny), Phyllis Peeler (Eddie), Judy Burnett (Eugene), Lynn Coggins, and Crystal Ellis (Brian); grandchildren, Labron Peeler (Jessica), Angela Burnett, and Tyler Ellis (Shealy); great-grandchildren, Brantley Peeler, Bryson Peeler, Everly Ellis, and Wright Ellis; cousins, Nancy Jane Tallent and Barbara Reagan.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Marty Coggins officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are Eugene Burnett, Brian Ellis, Tyler Ellis, Eddie Peeler, Labron Peeler, and Brantley Peeler. Johnny Smith will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
