Mark Anthony Phillips, 54, of Calhoun, Georgia died Sunday, February 6, 2022. He was born on December 30, 1967, in Rome, Georgia to Charles and Barbara Jean Lowery Phillips.
Mark was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Desert Storm and Iraq. During his deployment, he served as a Medical Specialist and was awarded the Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter Badge with M16 Rifle Bar, Sharpshooter Badge with Hand Grenade Bar
He is survived by his loving wife, Denise Kay Scott Phillips; son and daughter-in-law, Nathan (Elizabeth) Phillips; parents, Charles and Barbara Jean Lowery Phillips; brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Michael (Gwen) Phillips; brothers-in-law, Dewayne (Nona) Scott and Donny (Arlene) Scott; sister-in-law, Debra (Michael) Thompson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leon and Betty Scott; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 10, 2022, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral will be conducted on Friday, February 11, 2022, at 1:00 pm from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Maranatha Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are, Lamar Brown, Brent Casey, Matt Thompson, Donnie Scott, Nicholas Scott, Roger Phillips, Robin Lowery, Brian Perry, and Jimmy Dalzell.
