Obituary

Mark Alan Burrows, 55, of Calhoun, passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021, at his residence.
Mark was born in Jamestown, New York on October 31, 1965, the son of Marian Bucklaew Burrows and the late Jerome Burrows. He was a member of the 1983 graduating class of Calhoun High School and 1989 graduating class of West Georgia College. He was a veteran of the United States Army having attained the rank of
Sergeant First Class, having been awarded the Bronze Star. He participated in the Gulf War, OJF Bosnia, OIF Iraq three tours, and OEF Afghanistan two tours and retired from the US Army Reserves after 28 years of dedicated service. He was employed by the Georgia Department of Corrections as a probation officer for 20 years.
Survivors include his mother, Marian Burrows; brother, Michael Burrows and his wife Wendy, brother James Burrows and his wife Marjorie; sister Mary Ackerman; nieces and nephews, Katie Burrows, Matthew Burrows, Bradley Burrows, Cynthia Burrows, Jill Burrows, Daniel Burrows, Cody Ackerman and Haylie Buffington, a special friend, Stacey Greeson. A host of cousins and other relatives also survive.
A funeral service for Mr. Mark Alan Burrows will be conducted on Saturday, September 25th at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Whitton officiating. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery with full military honors. Pallbearers serving include, Bradley Burrows, Matthew Burrows, Cody Ackerman, Brent Buffington, Randy Abernathy, and Larry House. Honorary pallbearers serving will include Daniel Burrows, Jeff Adams, Kenneth Abernathy, Jim Burrows, Jason Ledford, Tom Griffith, John Latimer.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 25th between the hours of 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home.
