Mable Louise Cochran

February 24, 1925 — October 20, 2006

Mrs. Mable Louise Tate Cochran, age 81, of Calhoun, passed away Friday, October 20, 2006, at her residence after several years of declining health. She was born in Gordon County on February 24, 1925, daughter of the late Will and Gertrude Griffen Tate, and was preceded in death by a sister, Kindness Thomason, and a grandchild, Stanley O'Neal. Mrs. Cochran was a long-time member of Damascus Baptist Church, and was a retired seamstress from Herbcraft Corporation.

Survivors include her husband, F.M. Cochran; two sons; Gary Cochran and Tracy and his wife Melissa Cochran; one daughter, Gail and her husband John O'Neal; five grandchildren, Lanea and Haley O'Neal, Bogen and Megan Cochran, and Brett Cochran; three great-grandchildren, Regan O'Neal, and Blake and Aden Cochran, all of Calhoun.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mable Cochran will be conducted Monday, October 23, at 2:00pm at the Damascus Baptist Church, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Entombment will follow at a later date. Music will be arranged by Fonda Henson. Active pallbearers will include Todd Norrell, Ken Thomason, David Scoggins, Monty Bennett, John Corneilson, Don Bryson and Leonard Fletcher. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:15pm. Grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday between the hours of 2:00pm and 9:00pm.

In lieu of flowers the family asked that contributions be made to the Georgia Chapter Alzheimer's Association. Forms will be available for the family and friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
