Lynda Gail Bomar

Lynda Gail Hughes Bomar, 73, of Plainville, Georgia went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 14, 2023, at AdventHealth Redmond following a period of declining health.

Lynda was born July 31, 1949, in Summerville, Georgia, the daughter of the late Carl Hughes Sr. and Ovelle Timmens Hughes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Scott Bomar; two sisters, Frances Gilreath and Anne Brown; two brothers, Carl Hughes Jr., and Steve Wells.

After receiving her General Education Diploma, she enrolled in Coosa Valley Technical College and received her nursing degree and later discovered her calling and served at Gordon Health Care for many years. Linda was a member of Lakeview Pentecostal Church and she loved her family fiercely. She and her husband Jerry were married for 57 years.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Bomar; two sons, Todd Bomar and his wife Angela and Preston Bomar; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A service to celebrate her life will be conducted Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at 2:00 PM from Lakeview Pentecostal Church, 149 Legg Lake Road SW, Plainville, Georgia, 30733. Rev. Matthew Reynolds will officiate. Pallbearers serving will include, Ricky Walker, Preston Bomar, Todd Bomar, Jesse Lynn Carver, Gerg Smith, Carl Hughes III, and Zachary Bomar.  Terry Reisner will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery in Calhoun.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 17, between the hours of 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM and on Tuesday from 12:00 Noon until 1:30 PM at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home.
