Mrs. Lula Mae Moss, 97 of Calhoun, died Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Gordon Hospital. She was born in Gordon County on July 10, 1919, daughter of the late Morgan and Bessie Townsend White. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Thomas Moss in 1984; brothers, Richard White, Frank White, and Rembert White; and sisters, Merina Coggins and Olie Coggins.
Mrs. Moss was a homemaker, and a member of Moss Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Maudie Mae and James Clark of Calhoun; a sister, Frances Taylor of Jeffersonville, GA; her grandchildren, Michael Clark, Terry Woody, and Chasity Clark; great-grandchildren, Carrie Gordon, Kirk Woody, and Candace Clark; and great-great grandchildren, Bristin Gordon, Riley Belle Gordon, Kaistin Woody, Marina Talton, and Norah Mae Woody.
Services to honor the life of Mrs. Lula Mae Moss will be held Friday, April 7th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Josh Cowart, Rev. Reggie Nation, and Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Campbell Cemetery at Pleasant Hill. Pallbearers serving will include Kirk Woody, Nick Gordon, Stanley Woody, Freddie Craig, Bobby Burchett, and Don Floyd. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Moss Memorial Baptist Church.
The Moss family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 6th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
