Louise Holmes Brown, 82, of Sugar Valley entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Friday, June 19, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Louise was born in Calhoun, Georgia on September 27, 1943, the daughter of the late Edward Holmes and Lula Mae Silvers Holmes Sheriff. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Tonya M. Brown; step-father, Herman Sheriff; brothers, Dean Sheriff and Johnny Sheriff; sisters, Linda Nix and Joan Brown.
Louise enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, and her cakes were a delight,and enjoyed by family and friends. She was a loving wife and mother and adored her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She and her husband Wayne were faithful members of South Calhoun Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne Brown to whom she was married for 64 years; son Michael Brown and his wife Patty; Grandchildren, Amanda Shock, Michael Brown Jr. and his wife Hayley, and Hunter Brown; great grandchildren, Heather Shock, Jacob, Wyatt, Mackenzie, Paisley Brown; sister, Rita Cooper; brothers, Larry and Gary Sheriff.
The family will receive friends Monday, June 22, 2026 at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home between the hours of 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM. Her body will be moved to South Calhoun Baptist Church to lie in state on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour at 2:00 PM.
Ministers officiating will be Pastor, Jason Pace, and Rev. Gary Bowman. Music will be arranged by Brian Padgett. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery with Eddie Brannon in charge of the graveside service. Pallbearers serving include Michael Brown Jr., Hunter Brown, Randy Gallman, Steve Glass, Brandon Bohannon, and Freddie Grindle, and they are requested to assemble at South Calhoun Baptist Church by 1:30 PM Tuesday. Honorary pallbearers include members of the South Calhoun Baptist Church Choir.
