Obituary

Lon Sidney "Bo" Bearden of the New Town Community died on Monday, June 7, 2021, following several months of declining health. Bo was born in Floyd County on April 11, 1934; he was the son of the late Dock C. Bearden and the late Irene Patterson Johnson. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, John, David, Daniel, Donald, Dailey, D.A, Edmond, Raymond, Lucille, Cora Bell, Lena Mae, Rosie Mae, and Viola Bearden, and Barbara Ann Johnson. Bo retired from Huntsman Industries. He loved spending time outdoors, fishing, gardening and tinkering with small engines.
Survivors include his wife, Nell Broom Bearden; his son and daughter-in-law, Lonnie Dale and Donna Bearden; his daughter, Tammy B. Cochran; his grandchildren, Mana S. (Rickey) Harris and Jake R. (Andrea) Silvers; his great-grandchildren, Brynleigh S. Harris, Tripp Harris, Eva D. Harris, and Javyn Lon Silvers; his brother Jackie (Pat) Johnson; his sister, Mary Bearden; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The Bearden family will receive friends on Friday, June 11, 2021, from noon until 2:00 p.m. at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow the visitation on Friday at 2:00 p.m. from the funeral home chapel. Rev. Eddie Brannon will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Haven of Rest Memorial Park.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Animal Rescue League of Northwest Georgia, 1384 Self Lake Rd SE, Fairmount, GA 30139.
