Linda Joyce Babb

Linda Joyce Babb, 82, of Judsonia, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at her home. She was born on November 12, 1943, in Calhoun, Georgia to the late B.W. and Pauline (Greeson) Wood. She enjoyed spending her time working in her yard, caring for plants and gardening, and even picking up sticks around the property. One of her greatest pleasures was visiting the beach, where she could happily spend the entire day. She was also a hardworking businesswoman who, alongside her husband, owned Babb Tex Carpet for over 20 years before selling the business in 2007. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her grandson, Josh Barnette (JoAnna); great-grandchildren Kaitlynn Barnette, Joshua Barnette, Remmi Barnette, Zaiden Perot, and Philca Robertson; son-in-law Keith Barnette (Melissa); sister Vickie Hughes (Don); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Lamar Babb; her daughter, Teena Barnette; her son, Byron Kent Babb; and her brother, Gary Wood.

Funeral services were held on Monday, June 15, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Bald Knob at 6:00pm. Visitation began at 5:00pm. Arrangements were entrusted to Powell Funeral Home of Searcy, Arkansas. https://www.powellfuneralhome.net/obituaries/linda-babb-2/#!/Obituary

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Dug Gap Baptist Church in Dalton, Georgia, with Andy Barnette officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Rodney Babb, Neal Holsomback, Chad Wood, Bill Dickie, Joshua Barnette, and Jay Holsomback. Honorary pallbearers are David Fowler, David Farris, Tony Farrell, Remmi Bametter, Kevin Thrasher, Todd Barnette, Keith Barnette, and Eric Hughes. 

 The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at the church on Saturday.
