Mrs. Lillian Rogers Ballew, age 75 of Calhoun passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at her residence. She was born on Gilmer County on July 28, 1931 daughter of the late Lewis and Ida Boen Rogers. Mrs. Ballew was retired from the nursing profession after thirty years of service and loved interior designing. She was a member of the Belmont Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband George Buford Ballew on March 28, 2002 and by a sister Letha York.

Survivors include four sons; Larry Henson of Calhoun, Randall Henson and his wife Karen of Powder Springs, Mark Henson and his wife Joyce of South Haven, Mississippi and Steven Ballew and his wife Wanda of Calhoun. One daughter; Wanda Dills and her husband Billy of Calhoun, one sister Irene Charbeneau of Villanow, ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Lillian Rogers Ballew will be conducted Thursday July 12, 2007 at 2:00p.m. from Belmont Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Haven of Rest Memorial Park Cemetery. Active pallbearers serving will include Larry Vickery, Jack Kennington, Rex Evans, Mitchell Beavers, Atwood Cannon and David Ballew. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home on Thursday at 1:15p.m. Honorary pallbearers will include Brian Baxter, Robert Richardson, Tommy Smith, and the women in the Reapers Sunday School Class and they are asked to meet at the church at 1:45p.m. on Thursday. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6:00 until 9:00p.m.
