Mrs. Laura B. England, age 93, of Calhoun died Friday, April 6, 2007 at Gordon Health Care following several months of declining health. She was born in Gordon County on November 14, 1913, daughter of the late Thomas H. and Sarah Chadwick Bagley. She was a homemaker and member of Evergreen Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Daniel Ira England; a daughter, Jean England Cheung; a grandson, Russell Allen; three brothers, Ernest, Irwin, and Robert Bagley; and two sisters, Lillian Boswell and Lois Parker.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law; Mrs. Dimple Alred of Plainville; Morine and Harry Cheung of Williamsville, NY; Helen and James Allen of Resaca; and Homer Cheung of Atlanta; two sisters; Simmie Lewis of Calhoun; Ruby Baggett of Adairsville; and one brother, Hudon Bagley of Calhoun. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mrs. Laura B. England will be conducted Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 1:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Jimmie Timms officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Chapel Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Stacy Alred, Michael Cheung, Randall Allen, Gary Parker, Danny Baggett, and Randy Baggett. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home Tuesday at 12:15pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday between the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm.
