Obituary

Larry Lee Wheeler, 74, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 5, 1947, to the late Henry and Minnie Brand Wheeler. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kerry Wheeler.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Diane Wheeler; daughters, Monica (Anthony) Hiles, Charma (Brett) Cochran, Belinda (Mitchelle) Pack; brothers, Kenneth (June) Wheeler, David (Tina) Wheeler, Grover (Jennifer) Wheeler, sister, Emily Stone; grandchildren, Morgan Wheeler, Bryson Peace, Gavyn Peace, Kansas Angel, Matthew McAbee, Maggie McBrayer, Andrew Cochran, Loren Hiles, Presley Hiles, Penelope Hiles; great-grandchildren, Taylon Wheeler.
Larry was a veteran of the United States Navy. He enjoyed camping, being outside in nature, and woodworking. His children and grandchildren were the most important things in his life.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 24, 2021, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Rock Bridge, with the service to follow at 6:00 PM. Burial will follow in Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia, on August 9, 2021. Rev. Tim Gowens will officiate. Pallbearers are LeeRoy Gravitte, Lamar Thomas, Anthony Hiles, Brett Cochran, Bryson Peace, Miguel Guillen, and Gavyn Peace. Honorary pallbearers are Nick Gravitte, Andrew Cochran, Brandon Bearden, and Loren Hiles.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund for Agent Orange victims or the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
