Karen Fauber

November 7, 1948 — December 27, 2023

On December 27, 2023, Karen Stanfield Fauber arrived in heaven after many years of ill health.  She was born November 7, 1948 to Jack Stanfield and Vivian Muse Stanfield.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Lynn, Larry, and Terry Stanfield.  She is survived by her husband, Wayne Fauber, whom she was happily married to for 35 years.   She is also survived by her sisters, Gail Stanfield Brake and LaDonna Stanfield Gay. Karen was a graduate of Lee University, UGA, and Georgia State University.  She was a Specialist certified teacher and administrator at Red Bud High School and Ashworth Middle School until her retirement in 2001.   Wayne, Karen, Gail and Warren Brake owned and operated the Lighthouse Christian Bookstore for the last 33 years.

Karen was saved in 1957 and became a member of CEC Church.  She held the record for the longest church membership.  She taught Sunday School, Bible school, sponsored youth groups, was pianist for the church, and sang in the Stanfield Sisters Trio.  She was a dedicated Christian who always gave liberally of her means and talents.  She trusted God through multiple hospitalizations and transfusions that spanned 65 years…..but she is HEALED now!

Family and friends will celebrate her life at the Crane Eater Community Church Friday, December 29, 2023.  Visitation is from 5:00-7:00pm.  The service begins at 7:00 pm. Pastors Paul Gay and Howard Strickland will speak and the Praise Team, led by LaDonna Gay, is in charge of worship music. The following are pall bearers, Keith Stanfield, Will Cantrell, Warren Brake, Ryan Holden, Christian and Jacob Stephens, and Nathan Gay.

The family asks that flowers be omitted and donations be made to the Crane Eater Community Church building fund in her memory.

The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family of Karen Stanfield Fauber.
