Obituary

June Maness Wilson, 81, of Calhoun, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021, at her residence following several weeks of illness.
June was born in Walker County, Georgia on June 1, 1940, the daughter of the late Joel and Decie Elam Maness. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Don Wilson in 1974; two brothers, Gene Maness and Don Maness; Step-children, Herbert Wilson, Lee Roy Wilson and Shirley Wilson Pass. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Fiesta Restaurant and Triangle Grocery and she was a member of Calhoun Church of Christ.
Survivors include four daughters, Margie Wilson Pettit and her husband John, Kathy Lee Wilson, Christie Wilson Wilbanks and her husband Greg, Hollie Wilson Sisson and her husband Craig; three sons, Michael Wilson and his wife Kathy, Hugh Don Wilson Jr and his wife Rhonda, Joey Wilson and his wife Hannah; three step-daughters, Patsy Wilson Simms, Kay Wilson Goldberg, Vickie Wilson Goswick; two step-sons, Dwight Wilson and Yancey Wilson; thirteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and other relatives.
The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, December 7th at 3:00 PM from Calhoun Church of Christ with Minister John Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include the grandsons.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 7th between the hours of 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM at Calhoun Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made in Junes memory to; Raintree Village Childrens Home, 3757 Johnson Road, Valdosta, Georgia 31601.
