Judy Gail Butler, 73, of Sugar Valley, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025. She was born December 18, 1951, to the late Willie “Bill” Waggoner, Sr. and Pauline Powers Waggoner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lewis Waggoner, Jr; brother-in-law, George Newsome; great-granddaughter, Arrowyn Spires.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Joe Butler; daughter Dale Mathis Hornyak; brother, Charles (Sherry) Waggoner; sisters, Margaret Newsome, Susie Suggs, Trudy Waggoner; grandchildren, Jordan (Travis) Crocker, Jessica (Josh) Spires, Joseph (Samantha) Hornyak; great-grandchildren, Makinleigh Spires, Rixon Taylor, Abigail Hornyak, Solaria Spires; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Judy worked for many years as a beautician, managing at Great Clips and Fantastic Sams. She was a talented painter, with one of her paintings being displayed at the baby center of Gordon Hospital for many years. She loved spending time with her family.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 2, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Moss officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Hall Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers serving are Joseph Hornyak, Josh Spires, Dusty Waggoner, Kase Waggoner, Tad Coker, and Dylan Coker. Honorary pallbearers are Travis Crocker, Gary Chamblee, and Johnathan Timms.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the funeral home to assist with final expenses.
