Obituary

Joy Ann Crawford Sullivan, age 87, of Calhoun, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022. She was surrounded by her children and grandchildren as she peacefully entered heaven. Joy was born on August 4, 1935, in Monroe, GA to the late Harvey and Annie Ruth Allen Crawford. She married the love of her life, Billy Joe Sullivan, on December 22, 1954. They had a beautiful marriage of 49 years until the day he passed on July 17, 2004.
Mrs. Sullivan was a long-time faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church in Calhoun. She graduated from Calhoun High School, class of 1953. She was a prayer warrior and a true woman of faith. She loved the Lord, her family and friends, red birds, and just being with her many loved ones. Her family is heartbroken to lose her but rejoicing in that she is resting in the arms of Jesus and has been reunited with her precious husband.
Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her Stepmother, Kathryn Crawford, father and mother-in-law Elbert & Elizabeth Sullivan. Brothers and sisters-in-law: Joseph (Gladys) Crawford, Reginald Crawford, Bobby Crawford and a sister, Emma Jean Davis. Brothers-in-law: Troy Ward, Howard Withrow, and Jim Doster. Brother and sisters-in-law: Charles & Lucille Sullivan, James & Eleanor Sullivan. Great Grandchildren, Jesse Roland, Annabelle, Isabelle, McKinsey, Coy Sullivan, and Remi Sullivan.
Joy was survived by her children, Vicki (Brian) Baxter, Susan (Lanier) Roland and Jody (Cindy) Sullivan. Twelve grandchildren: Zac (Katherine) Roland, Jeni (Brandon) Knight, Gib (Katy Beth) Roland, Andy (Brooke) Baxter, Eric (Leigh) Baxter, Casey (Connie) Baxter, Corey (Lindsay) Baxter, McCoy (Tiffanni) Sullivan, Lome (Brittany) Sullivan, Asher (Afton) Sullivan, Madison (Joseph) Stoic, and Noah (Rachel) Sullivan.
Sisters, Carolyn Ward, Sheryl Withrow and Lanez McEntyre. Brother and sister-in-law, Jackie and Jackie Sullivan, and Steve Sullivan. Great Grandchildren: Luca, Rocco, Lexi, Bo, Caroline, Charlie, Cal, Claire, Sawyer, Drew, Hallie Baxter. Avery, Shepherd, Henley, Harper Roland. Sullivan, Jasper, Emery Knight. Amelia, Natalie, Greer, Clarke, Kambree, Wrenlee Sullivan, and Samuel Maldonado. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at 3:00 PM from Antioch Baptist Church with Zac Roland and Casey Baxter officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery with Rev. Eddie Brannon and Rev. Randy Muse officiating. Katherine Roland will be in charge of music. Serving as Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Zac, Gib Roland, Brandon Knight, Andy, Eric, Casey, Corey Baxter, McCoy Lorne, Asher, and Noah Sullivan. Honorary Pallbearers will be The Fountains Calhoun Staff, Homespun Hospice Staff, and the Ladies Encouragers Sunday School Class of Antioch Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Antioch Baptist Church Youth Fund.
