Obituary

Mr. Johnny Lamar McBee, 86, of Resaca, Georgia passed away at his residence on Thursday, December 2, 2021, after several years of declining health.
He was born in the Pine Chapel Community of Gordon County on April 21, 1935, son of the late Lee and Myrtle Sisson McBee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Morene McBee Arnold and Patty McBee Barton; one brother, Gene McBee; brothers-in-law, Sam Arnold, Grady Blankenship, and David Barton.
He owned and operated McBees North Wall Texaco for 18 years. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Burt Jeffords Construction, he enjoyed the outdoors, collecting and trading pocket knives, woodworking, old tractors, and farm equipment, raising and training hunting dogs, and being with friends.
Survivors include his wife, Dell Barton McBee to whom he was married for 32 years, daughter, Sheila McBee; son, Ricky Lamar McBee (Nicki); step-son, Chris Poarch; grandchildren, Kurt McBee (Jessica), Zackary McBee (Jessica), Brandon McBee (Amber), Kayla McBee and Austin Porch; great-grandchildren, Grant, Blair, Ryder, and Chloe; sister, Grathel McBee Blankenship; brother, Larry 'Buck' McBee (Betty). A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
The service will be held Saturday, December 4th at 4:00 PM at Pine Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Mike Sims officiating. Singing will be arranged by Burt Jeffords.
