Obituary

Mr. Johnny Clay Long, 85, of Calhoun, passed away Monday, November 14th, 2022, in AdventHealth Redmond in Rome following complications with his heart.
Mr. Long was born in Gordon County, Georgia, on June 11, 1937, the son of the late Voyd and Maudie Mae Tatum Long. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karella Lawson Long; a son, Ricky Long; two sisters, Ruby Holbert and Dorothy (Dot) Fountain. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Rainbow Carpets as a supervisor, and he was a member of Heritage Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Randy Long and Clay Long; two grandchildren, Kambri Long and Ashley Hicks; two great-grandchildren, Memphis and Gracie Hicks; two sisters, Marth Ann (Tom) Mulkey and Odell Hales; six brothers, Wayne (Mildred) Long, Coy (Rhonda) Long, Leslie Long, Jack (Lee) Long, David (Kathy) Long and, Marvin (Mary) Long along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Johnny Clay Long will be conducted Friday, November 18th at 2:00 PM from Heritage Baptist Church with Rev(s) Shane Parrott and Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Honorary Pallbearers are, Jeff Lacey and Matt Lacey.
The family will receive friends at Heritage Baptist Church Friday, November 18th, from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour of 2:00 PM.
The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family of Mr. Johnny Clay Long.
