Obituary
On February 19th, 1967, an ordinary event marked the beginning of the life of an extraordinary man. It was unknown at the time, but that man would one day change so many lives in ways unimaginable.
Johnathan Eugene Patton was born to the late Kenneth and Jeanette Patton at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. He is survived by the love of his life of 26 years, Victoria Joy Patton, and three children Amanda, Blake and Zane, all of whom he loved more than life itself, three sisters Nicole (Ron) Labrie, Amy (Roger) Cogdill, Kenda (Andy) Barnes, and many other loving family members.
Johnny experienced many things in his life that helped shaped him into the person he was. He was a simple man, not driven by the need for extravagance or wealth. He was a quiet man, finding more value in listening than speaking. He was an honest man, knowing that a lie isnt going to make your troubles disappear. He was a hard worker, dedicating himself to building a safe and prosperous future for his family. He was a smart man, but knew there was always another lesson to learn. He was a devoted man, his family always came first. He was a husband, a son, a brother, a friend, a confidant and a leader; but the most important name he ever had was Dad. His wife and three children were the greatest love of his life. His lifelong passion for his family could be seen in every decision he made, every thought he had, and every prayer he prayed. He dedicated his life to being the rock in which his family was built, and he protected them with the might of 10,000 armies. His life on this mortal coil cant possibly be measured by simple deeds and actions, but by the people he has left behind. The impact he made on those whom he loved and valued is priceless, and the pain that is left in his absence is immense. However, as the days and weeks turn into months and years, the sadness may never truly go away, but the beautiful memories of Johnny will eventually overshadow the ache in our collective heart and we will learn to smile for all the joyous times we spent with him.
To the most extraordinary man weve ever known, we love you, and you will always remain in our hearts, forever and ever, Amen.
-Vicki, Amanda, Blake and Zane.
