John Harvey Martindale Jr.

John Harvey Martindale, 72, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2025. He was born in Fort Meade, Maryland on November 13, 1952, to the late John Harvey Martindale Sr., and “Queenie” Esther Martindale.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Martindale; sons, Gabriel (Melanie) Nance, Chris (Jamie) Hornbrook; brothers, Keith, and Phil Martindale; sisters, Renee Martindale, Jane (Randy) Joye; grandchildren, Logan and Ember Nance- Martindale, Rachel Burchett, Katie and Gracen Hornbrook, Patrick Nix, and Brad Gray; great grandchildren, Cooper, Owen, and Walker Burchett, Liam Jones.

John was a retired schoolteacher. He served in the National Guard for 17 years. He was a member of Sugar Valley Baptist Church.

To honor his wishes, his body will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held Saturday, May10, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Sugar Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Mitch Phillips officiating. Burt Jeffords will be in charge of the music.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM.
