Obituary

John Henry Spivey Jr., 82, of Calhoun, Georgia died Monday, December 13, 2022. He was born on March 8, 1940, in Brooksville, Florida to the late John Henry Spivey Sr. and Mazie Elaine Tidwell Spivey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John Spivey III; sister, Vivian E. Mothershed.
He was a member of New Town Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Sue Spivey; sons and daughter-in-law, Paul (Rachal) Spivey and Kenneth Spivey; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie (Rick) Gibner and Dana (Jacob) Steedley; brothers and sister-in-law, Roy H. Spivey Sr. and Curtis L. (Janet) Spivey; sister, Sandra J. Davis; grandchildren, Jasmine Magaditsch, Ian Gibner, LeaAnn Metzmier, William Metzmier, Xena Elrod, Skyler Spivey, and Shyann Spivey; great grandchildren, Aiden Gibner, Carter Gibner, Austin Magaditsch, Evan Magaditsch, Emeny Elrod, Harley Hunter, Everleigh Elrod, John Hunter, Faith Gibner, and Marie Gibner; brother-in-law, David Henderson.
To honor his wishes, his body was cremated.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2022, at 1:00 PM from Newtown Baptist Church.
