Obituary

Mr. John David "Paw" Addy, 72, of Fairmount, GA, passed away at his residence following several months of declining health.
John was born in Meriweather County, Georgia on January 30, 1950, son of the late Herbert and Susie Wilson Addy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Davis Addy; daughter, Cynthia Michelle Addy, and his son, Herbert Preston Addy.
He loved the outdoors, was an avid deer hunter, enjoyed collecting various things, loved his family dearly, and adored his two grandchildren and his three great-grandchildren. After his accident that eventually confined him to a wheelchair, he never considered himself handicapped. He did not let it interfere with living a normal life as he continued to do the things he loved to do.
Survivors include his daughter, Susie Addy Grizzle and her husband Darrell; grandchildren, Tiffany (Isreal) Smith and Wesley Grizzle; great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Nora-Faye and Crimsen Jack Smith. A special sister-in-law, Nina Bailey, along with several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A service to celebrate the life of John David Addy will be held on Wednesday, July 6th at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Eddie Brannon and Michael Stone officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include the following gentlemen, Elbert Jackson, Isreal Smith, Greg Davis, Daniel Monteith, Whitey Davis, and Lamar Thomas. Honorary pallbearers serving are Brian (Ears) Davis, Michael Johnson, and David Washington.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 5th, between the hours of 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
