Obituary

Joann Silvers Hobbs, 62, of Plainville, Georgia died Tuesday, September 14, 2021, after 9 months of declining health. She was born on June 11, 1959, in Calhoun, Georgia to the late Alvin and Ruby Stansell Silvers. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Hobbs Jr.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Kim Pugh; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Chris Newberry; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Rosie Silvers; grandchildren, Tyler Pugh, Macayla Clayton, Brennon Chamlee, William Newberry, and 6 step grandchildren; special nieces, Tiffany Silvers Matchett and nephew, Billy Alvin Silvers; special friend, Kenneth Avery; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, many cousins, and other relatives also survive.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 20, 2021, from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at Haven of Rest Baptist Church.
The funeral will follow the visitation at 2:00 pm from Haven of Rest Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in Stansell Cemetery in Villanow, GA. Pallbearers are, Kenneth Hobbs, Lane Hobbs, Kenneth Newberry, Andrew Newberry, Calvin (Davy) Matchett, and Skyler Delp.
