Jerry Willard Thompson

Jerry “J.T.” Willard Thompson, 86, of Resaca, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024. He was born in Calhoun, Georgia, on December 8, 1938, to the late Silas and Dimple Sisson Thompson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ted Thompson.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Elaine Sims Thompson. Other friends and relatives also survive.

Jerry was a faithful member and ordained as a Deacon of Maple Grove Church since May 16, 1993. He was a dedicated member of the Coosawattee Masonic Lodge #306, F&AM.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 26, 2024, from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Shane Cloer and Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jeff Fauscette, David Brown, Nathan Brown, Hunter Guinn, Jacob Mashburn, Brian Mashburn, and Kenny Sheriff.
