Jerry Ray Ballew, 77, of Fairmount, Georgia died Friday, January 14, 2022. He was born on September 5, 1944, to the late Perry and Mary Eunice Brannon Ballew.
Jerry graduated from Fairmount High School in 1963. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He served on the Fairmount City Council for two terms. He retired from UPS in 1997.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy Ballew; daughter, Paige Fouts; grandchildren, Raylee Fouts and Chris Fouts; sister, Doris Haddock.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, from 12 noon until 2:00 pm at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral will follow the visitation at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Brannon and Bishop Terry Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Ryo Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are, Larry Rogers, Terry Fouts, Chris Fouts, Steve Brannon, Blake Brannon, Ed McDaniel, Jerry Mauldin, and Buddy Wyatt. Honorary pallbearers are Mark Boswell and James Childers.
