Jeffrey Gary Watson, 72, of Resaca, Georgia passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at his residence after several months of declining health. He was born on April 28, 1950, in Pikeville, Tennessee to the late James and Cwilla Haston Watson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Watson; sister, Charlotte Watson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lester and Carrie Hale.
Jeffrey loved his family dearly and enjoyed being outdoors, deer hunting and fishing. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Sugar Valley. Prior to retirement he was employed by Harcross Chemicals for 45 years as a professional truck driver.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Connie Holmes Watson; sons, Mark Watson and Matthew Watson; daughters and sons-in-law, Melody Watson, Miranda (Bob) Fain, and Whitney (Cory) Young; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rodney (Wanda) Watson and Avery (Tammy) Watson; grandchildren, Presley Greeson, Preston Fain, Ashley Benton, Parker Watson, Lucas Watson, Jacob Watson, Samuel Watson, Preston Terrette, and Caitlyn Watson; great grandchildren, Hunter Benton, Will Young, Natalie Young, and Finn Young.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral will be conducted on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Thomas and Rev. Tony Coggins officiating. Burial will follow in Fidelle Cemetery. The grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
