Obituary

Janie Lee Broome, 71, of Rome, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022. She was born in Athens, Tennessee, on December 31, 1950, to the late Walter and Ozella Broome. She was preceded in death by her son, David Howard Strickland; brothers, Donnie Broome and Jerry Charles Broome; sisters, Ellen Broome, Judy Glass, and Norma Jean Brookshire.
Janie is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Rickey and Linda Broome; and sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette and Rodney Kelly. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral service will follow the visitation on Saturday at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are Rodney Kelly, Chad Kelly, Rickey Broome, and Tyler Jackson.
The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family of Janie Lee Broome.
