James Willis Hollingsworth Jr

Mr. James Willis Hollingsworth, Jr., age 44 of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Gordon County on October 10, 1965, son of the late James W. Hollingsworth, Sr. and Ruby Johns Hollingsworth. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Hollingsworth.

Mr. Hollingsworth loved fishing and the outdoors, and was self-employed as an auto mechanic.

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Ruby Johns Bryant and Tony Wayne Bryant; a son, James W. Hollingsworth, III; a daughter, Ruby Elizabeth Hollingsworth, all of Calhoun; two brothers, Jessie Hollingsworth and his wife Vicki of Villanow, and Christopher Barry Hollingsworth of Calhoun; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice and Levi Nix, and Tammy Dewayne Gibbs, all of Calhoun; and a grandchild, Allie Brendalyn Maddox. Numerous nieces, nephews, five great nieces, several aunts and uncles, a great uncle, and special friends, the Gourleys, also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. James Willis Hollingsworth, Jr. will be conducted Saturday, February 13th at 2:00pm from the Resaca Christian Fellowship, with Rev. Rusty Haradon officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include James Starks, Michael Hindmon, Chris Hollingsworth, Josh Nix, Kevin Sloan, and Mark Goforth. Honorary pallbearers are Josh Gourley and Billy Gourley. These gentlemen are requested to assemble at the church Saturday at 1:30pm.

The family will begin receiving friends Thursday at 5:00pm at the Resaca Christian Fellowship, and will continue at the church until the funeral hour of 2:00pm on Saturday.
