James Harry Frix

Obituary

Mr. James Harry Frix, 86, of Calhoun passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022 at his residence after several years of declining health. He was born April 5, 1936 in Gordon County to the late Roy and Lois Crump Frix. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Frix.
Harry was retired from the Calhoun Post Office after 37 years of service and then devoted his time to his poultry and cattle farm. He loved working outside and the challenge of fixing things. Harry was a people person and was always ready to share his time in a good conversation. He was a member of Belmont Baptist Church and was a member of the Sportsman Sunday School Class. He was devoted to his family and a friend to many.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Tommie Rogers Frix, a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Mitch Frix and his wife Tina; a daughter and son-in law, Michelle Ward and her husband Eric; grandsons, Dr. Ty Frix (Ro) and Trent Frix (Fallin); granddaughter, Hannah Knight; great grandsons, Artie Frix, Frankie and Foster Frix; a half-brother, Eric Frix a sister-in-law, Mattie Sue Robbins (Edsel); nieces and nephews along with his numerous extended family of good friends.
The family would like to express their thanks to Pruitt Health Hospice, their employees, and the numerous caregivers that helped throughout his illness.
The funeral service for Mr. James Harry Frix will be held Monday, August 15th at 3:00 PM from Belmont Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Hall officiating. Mr. Frix's body will be placed in state at the church for viewing one hour preceding the funeral service. Music will be arranged by Jim and Treva Sellers. Burial will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers serving will include, Ty and Trent Frix, Eric Ward, Bruce Stocks, Douglas Hasty, and Alan Holcomb.
The family will receive friends Sunday, August 14th between the hour of 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home, 711 College Street, Calhoun, GA 30701.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Harrys memory to 'Good Samaritan Ministries of Gordon County,' 373 Morrow Road S.E., Calhoun, Georgia 30701.
The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family of James Harry Frix.
