James Howard Adams Sr., 75, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. He was born in Rome, Georgia, on December 16, 1949, to the late James Thurston Adams and Betty Payne Adams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Eugene Dowdy.
James is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara “Bobbie” Adams; sons, Jonathan Shane Dowdy (Stacey) and James Howard Adams II; sister, Kandie Marks; grandchildren, Macon Allen, Justin Robert Dowdy, Mykala Surat (Will), James Christian Adams, and Trinity Adams; great-grandchildren, Oriana Allen, Lana Allen, and Berkley Surat.
To honor his wishes, his body was cremated, and no services will be held at this time.
