Iva Nell Raines

Obituary

Iva Nell Raines, 96, of Calhoun, Georgia passed away November 24, 2022, following an extended illness. She was born in Dalton, Georgia on March 9, 1926, to the late Wiley and Beatrice Carter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Carter and brother, Billy Carter.
She is survived by her sister, Peggy Carter; nephew, Brent (Pamela) Carter; sisters-in-law, Sherry Carter, Nora Lee Pickens; cousins, Hazel Hall, Charlie Strickland, Gladys Strickland; great-nieces and nephews Lilly and William Carter.
Iva spent many years working in the textile industry, retiring from Echota Mills. She was the oldest member of Sugar Valley Church of God.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 28, 2022, from Haven of Rest Memorial Park with Pastor Dwaine Shadix officiating.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 28, 2022, from 12 Noon until 1:30 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
