Obituary

Mrs. Irene Cross Farrell, 82, of Resaca, Georgia died peacefully at her residence on Thursday, July 21, 2022.
Irene was born in Morganton, Georgia on December 3, 1939, the daughter of the late Hoyt David Cross and Lora Belle Hunter Cross. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty eight years, James Farrell on March 24, 2021; sister, Audrey Elaine Allen White; brothers, Gerald Hoyt Cross and Vaughn Maxwell Cross; step-daughter, Kimberly Turez Slaughter. Prior to retirement, she was employed by the Gordon County Board of Education as a cafeteria worker at Gordon Central High School and was a longtime member of New Town Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Mrs. Irene Cross Farrell will be conducted Sunday, July 24th at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Eddie Brannon officiating. Music will be arranged by Jeff Rogers. Interment will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Chris Caldwell, Dawson Caldwell, Anthony Robinson, Wesley Patterson, Ethan Farrell and Matthew Farrell.
Survivors include her daughters, Judy Gayle Boyd and Tammy Lorilla Talent; sons, Scott Daniel Wingate and Kevin Wade Farrell; sisters, Brenda Luverne Jenkins and Charlotte Imogene Harris; brother, Vincent Darrell Cross; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family of Irene Cross Farrell of Resaca.
