Hazel Inez Hallman

June 25, 1937 — March 2, 2023

Hazel Inez Black Hallman, 85, of Calhoun, Georgia passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023 in AdventHealth Redmond after several months of declining health.


Mrs. Hallman was born in Gordon County, Georgia on June 25, 1937, the daughter of the late Otto L. Black and Stella Mae Pack Black. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Oscar Hallman; devoted friend and companion, Eddie Morrison, sisters, Faye Freeman and Marcelle Gibson; and a brother, Terry black. During her career, she was employed in the carpet industry and at several retail stores. Prior to retirement, she operated a home day care for children for over 15 years.


She loved to host a fish fry for her family and friends every year for ten plus years, loved camping with friends and family and enjoyed Karaoke, dancing, needle point, quilting and yard sales.


Survivors include her daughter, Pam (Kenny) Howard of Dalton; sons, Keith (Connie) Hallman of Jasper, GA, and Kevin (Sherrie) Hallman of Murray County, GA; siblings, Marsha (Richard) Townsend of Fairmount, Larry (Peggy) Black of Calhoun, Patsy (Alan) Starkey of California; sister-in-law, Barbara Black of Calhoun; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews survive.


Funeral services for Hazel Inez Black Hallman will be held Sunday, March 5th at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. James Watts officiating. Interment will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Pallbearers serving will include Darren Howard, Derek Howard, Alex Howard, Donnie Freeman, Adam Hall, Chris McCoy, Mike Benton and Clay Townsend. Honorary pallbearers will include, Steve Williams, Hunter Howard, Cody Black, Dale Black and Randall Gibson.


The family will receive friends Saturday, March 4th between the hours of 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
